I’m glad (and honored) you’ve found your way here.
For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in worship ministry, leadership development, and spiritual formation. Along the way, I’ve grown to deeply appreciate a simple truth: healthy leadership begins with a healthy soul. When we are anchored in Christ, we are better able to live, lead, serve, and love from a place of grace rather than pressure.
While Anchored Worship Collective has a special heart for worship leaders, pastors, and ministry teams, this space is not limited to them. Many of the same challenges—discernment, fatigue, transitions, personal and spiritual growth—are shared by leaders and believers from all walks of life. Whether in ministry, work, or everyday life, it’s easy to become so focused on serving others that we lose sight of the personal rhythms that keep us spiritually grounded and connected to God.
Early in my ministry journey, I was diagnosed with a chronic health condition that has taught me the value of healthy rhythms, shared leadership, and serving from God’s strength rather than my own. It also deepened my passion for helping others cultivate sustainable patterns of life, leadership, and spiritual health.
My hope is that Anchored Worship Collective provides a place for encouragement, coaching, soul care and spiritual direction, and honest conversation. If that’s something that would be meaningful to you, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

More About “Hersh”
Worship Ministry Coach, Spiritual Director, and Leadership Coach
David Hershberger’s journey began in higher education, where he served in residence life and campus ministries at Messiah University and coached collegiate men’s and women’s volleyball. During his tenure at Messiah, he served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, supporting campus ministry and missions initiatives throughout the northeastern United States. These formative experiences shaped his passion for leadership development, discipleship, and spiritual formation.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Messiah University and a master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in counseling from Shippensburg University. His passion for worship as a way of life—not just a Sunday expression—led him to the Pacific School of Worship in Langley, British Columbia, where he completed a two-year immersive program in worship ministry, worship leadership, theology, and spiritual formation, earning a Certificate of Completion. This season deepened his understanding of worship as both a lifestyle and a ministry calling, shaping his commitment to developing leaders whose ministries flow from intimacy with God.
In 1996, Hersh became Worship Pastor at Mechanicsburg Brethren in Christ Church (McBIC), a role he held for 27 years. There he developed leaders, launched and led Inspire Worship, a seven-year initiative serving worship leaders throughout Central Pennsylvania, and modeled a ministry culture that values healthy rhythms, intentional development, and Spirit-led excellence.
In 2025, Hersh transitioned into pastoral care, coaching, and spiritual direction. As he completes certification in spiritual direction in October 2026, he continues blending soul care, spiritual formation, and worship coaching to help leaders serve from a place of overflow—anchored, renewed, and deeply connected to God.
